SAMANTHA GOTTLICH

Education

High School

I graduated from Scituate High School in 2015. Throughout my 4 years, I began exploring my passions for marketing and business through running Social Media Marketing for the Drama Club and Literary Magazine. I self taught myself basic graphic design (for fliers and digital ads), how to monitoring engagements and read insights, and how to properly administrate social media.

In addition, I occasionally managed the school store. I enjoyed theater and acted in musicals, was on the hair and makeup team during straight plays, and wrote and directed my own tragedies during the student directed plays competition. In addition, I was apart of the Honors choir and would participate in additional choir competitions and performances outside of the classroom.

Johnson and Wales University

I attended Johnson and Wales University for one year prior to transferring to UMass Dartmouth. I studied marketing and was apart of DECA and Marketing EDGE. I was a Brand Manager for the Style and Design Association, helped with marketing an event company named PANGEAA, and did Social Media Marketing for the theater club.

In addition, I modeled in several fashion shows on-and-off campus, volunteered with the Food Not Bombs Providence chapter and began a blog which ran on-and-off for 2 years.

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

I finished my Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a minor in Sustainability for UMass Dartmouth. I transferred in Summer 2016, took a medical leave of absence in Spring 2017, returned Fall 2019 and will graduate in Spring 2020.

While here, I was active with the Green Navigators, a sustainability club and work study. I was the Chief of Social Media Marketing and did graphic design, social media management, and event marketing for the organization.

I took an array of classes focusing on multiple levels of marketing and sustainability. I switched from being an active organization member on campus to working in the brand ambassador and event management industry. I stopped my activity in campus theater and art and moved into starting my own art pop up, No Rhyme or Reason Art.

I've received a Center of Marketing Research Scholarship and a Marketing EDGE Scholarship as well.

From June to August 2016, I worked at MindMax LLC as a summer internship. MindMax's clients are colleges and universities. I played a role in the efforts for Boston University, UCLA.
